- College coaches may legally contact you and receive collect calls after July 1 of Junior year
- Discuss Achievement Test results with counselor
- Obtain current Guide for the College Bound Student Athlete from NCAA
- Continue to review and update list of potential colleges
October, November & December
- Review progress with parents
- Explore opportunities for college / high school joint enrollment credit
- Check with counselor for SAT & ACT test dates
- Check with counselor for Dec SAT registration deadline
- Achievement Tests given in early Nov. nationally
- Review all material in college file
- Visit College Nights/College Fairs
- Complete at least 2 admission applications for practice only
- Get letters of recommendations
- Continue to review and update list of potential colleges
January, February & March
- Visit local colleges of different types and sizes
- Check with counselor for SAT/ACT registration deadlines and test dates
- Discuss Achievement Test results with counselor
- Develop your preference profile
- Organize your personal portfolio
- Arrange for spring/summer visits, interviews at colleges in which you have an interest
- Continue researching financial aid sources
- Continue to review and update list of potential colleges
April, May & June
- Take SAT and/or ACT
- Academic for senior year
- Parent and student meeting with counselor
- Achievement Tests given in early May
- Review academic record, plan next year's program
- Explore possibility of enrolling in AP courses during senior year for college credit
- Review admissions applications questions and concerns with counselor
- Register with the NCAA National Clearinghouse (forms can be obtained from your counselor)
